Logitech K810 Keyboard Review

We are very specific and adamant about things like processors, graphics cards when we buy a new computer. But nobody gives that much attention to a keyboard and its functionalities as long as it’s competent and not faulty. Keyboards have had their own evolution with multiple functionalities making typing smoother and faster. As the reliance on computers has increased, typing faster is almost a necessity now. Thus improved versions of normal keyboard came into existence. One of these new and improved keyboards is Logitech K810.

A follow-up to Microsoft’s K760 Solar Keyboard, Logitech K810 keyboard is an improvement in many ways. It’s stylish and attractive, has a better shape, is much smoother while typing, and has a better overall design. The concave surfaces make your finger movement between keys fast and fluid. You can access the Windows Start menu with the help of a dedicated key on it. Since this is a bluetooth keyboard, it doesn’t require charging frequently unlike the solar keyboard. Due to its minimalist design, it requires less space on your desk than a full-size keyboard. This is an extremely user-friendly, compact, and great looking machinery.

It fits along smoothly with any modern computers and operating systems, be it Mac, Windows, or Android. Its extremely sleek finish, with a brushed aluminium effect face, makes it stand out among other products of its kind in the market. K810 is an easily portable keyboard, making it an ideal choice to use with a tablet. The design of the keyboard, with a brushed aluminium effect face, is simple yet attractive.

The keys of K810 are made of nimble rubbers that have good bounce; it makes typing easy compared to mechanical keyboards. Cross-compatibility isn’t a unique feature for a wireless keyboard, but the unique thing about K810 is its ability to pair with three different devices at the same time. You can easily toggle between each one of the devices with the help of specific keys at the top of the keyboard. This option allows you to make text input across several devices easily. For example, you can just pair the keyboard with your Android phone, PC, and tablet within a few steps. There was a day when this seemed unlikely, but not today.

K810 has a backlight feature with an adjustable four brightness mode. It is designed such that they are perfectly visible in a completely dark room having minimum brightness. The function keys(F1-F12) here works as media and setting keys, that includes backlight settings, volume, and media controls. The rubber feet at the bottom prevents it from sliding while typing.

The Proximity detector is in the long list of cool features of K810. Due to this feature, the keyboard enables itself as soon as you bring fingers to the key, right before you start typing. It increases your typing speed and automatically activates backlight as well. This feature helps you save time and allows the keyboard to rest sooner, thus saving battery life.

Speaking of battery life, the K810 takes about 3 hours to fully charge, and it can go about 10 days with the backlight on if used about 2 hours a day. Or an entire year! If you don’t use the backlight. There is an indicator light that turns red when the keyboard needs power and green when it is charging. This is one of those devices where you don’t have to worry about battery life all that much. The only downside is that the battery isn’t solar-powered like its predecessor K760, which isn’t even a big deal considering the strengths of this version’s battery.

The Drivers running K810 are easily available on the developer website. It’s often a complaint with some multi-functional devices that new drivers are not easily available online. But that’s not the case with K810. You just have to register on the developer website to get a good driver service. In this way, you don’t have to depend on third-party sites for updating your driver.

Conclusion

Logitech is an easy-to-write-on, slim, stylish keyboard that’s worth your attention and money.
